    Engineered for large, multi-zone applications, the MRCOOL® DIY 5th Gen 55,000 BTU Multi-Zone Mini Split Condenser delivers up to 61,000 BTU of total connected indoor capacity. Easily cool or heat up to six separate zones using a combination of MRCOOL 5th Gen air handlers—ranging from compact 6K BTU all the way up to powerful 36K units. Designed for easy DIY installation, this unit is pre-charged with eco-friendly R-454B refrigerant and does not require special tools or HVAC licenses for setup.

    This high-capacity 6-zone condenser supports 6K, 9K, 12K, 18K, 24K, and even 36K 5th Gen air handlers. A minimum of 2 zones must be connected. Total indoor capacity must not exceed 61,000 BTU.

    Sample valid combinations:

    • 36K + 18K + 6K = 60K
    • 24K + 12K + 12K + 9K = 57K
    • 18K + 12K + 9K + 9K + 6K + 6K = 60K
    • 12K + 12K + 12K + 12K + 12K = 60K

    Recommended Wire Size

    • Recommended: 6 AWG copper wire – supports 34A MCA and 40A fuse
    • One Size Smaller (8 AWG): May be acceptable for short runs but could overheat under load—check local codes
    • One Size Larger (4 AWG): Ideal for long wire runs—ensures minimal voltage drop and extra safety margin

    Note: Condenser is pre-charged with R-454B refrigerant and is not backward compatible with R-410A systems. Please ensure total indoor load is within allowable limits and follow all installation guidelines.
