The MRCOOL® Universal Series Central Heat Pump and Air Conditioner System is a groundbreaking solution in whole-home climate control, delivering exceptional energy efficiency, whisper-quiet performance, and simplified installation compared to traditional central HVAC systems.

Unlike conventional split systems, the Universal Series features a DC inverter compressor that intelligently adjusts output based on real-time demand. It ramps up when needed and scales down during mild weather conditions—maximizing comfort while minimizing energy use and utility bills. This variable-speed operation not only enhances efficiency but also reduces system wear and tear, extending the life of your HVAC investment.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the Universal condenser can pair with many existing air handlers from other brands. However, for optimal performance, it is best matched with a MRCOOL air handler.

The 2–3 Ton MRCOOL Universal System includes a full-sized air handler and a compact, side-discharge condenser that supports 24,000–36,000 BTU capacity—ideal for spaces between 1,100 to 1,550 square feet. This system offers unmatched versatility: the 3-ton condenser can be field-configured to operate as a 2-ton unit using simple dip switch settings.

Installation is quick and hassle-free thanks to MRCOOL's pre-charged Quick Connect line sets (sold separately in lengths up to 50 feet). No vacuuming or refrigerant charging is required, making it a true DIY-friendly solution.

Using the same advanced inverter technology found in MRCOOL mini-splits, this system automatically adjusts its output to maintain consistent indoor temperatures with maximum efficiency and minimal energy waste.

THE MRCOOL Universal Series Heat Pump can continue heating in temperatures as low As -22. The Universal can deliver 100% cooling capacity at temperatures up to 110 degrees Fahrenheit, 80% heat output down to -4 degrees. The air handler comes with an electrical box assembly, a fan motor, a secondary drain pan, a primary drain pan, and an optional auxiliary heat kit.

No-Vac Quick Connect Line Set

The MRCOOL No-Vac Quick Connect Line Set is one of the biggest advantages of the MRCOOL Universal Series Central Heat and Air Split System. This line set is kink resistant, pre-charged with R410a refrigerant, and uses Quick Connect fittings. 

The quick connect functionality means that the installation of the Universal System saves you hours, and doesn't require any special tools and equipment.
